National Industrial Supply Company ( NIS ) was established in 1981 as a distributor and repair center for chain slings, wire rope slings, nylon slings and complementary hardware. In the early 1990s NIS became a member of the Michigan Minority Business Development council. Since then NIS has proven itself as a leader in the Michigan minority business industry by building and maintaining lasting business relationships with such industry leaders as ; DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company, General Motors and many other reputable companies. Today NIS provides a wide range of services such as ; conducting in-plant seminars on over-head lifting, inspecting chain, wire rope and nylon slings, certifying alloy chain slings, lifting devices and End Effectors. As well as helping customers keep up to date with OSHA requirements.
