Salas Aluminum Lures is not far from the Pacific coastal communities where recreational and professional fishing is a serious business. It’s owned and operated by Matt Salas, who started the company in 1955. Salas makes small aluminum metal jigs that, when reflected by light, will “lure” the fish to the hook. He has different lures for different fish, such as local yellow tail, sea bass, tuna and marlin. There’s also lures for skipjack, wahoo and Pacific albacore. Salas also is a supplier to local tackle stores and sporting good business in the region.
