Tom had never built a rod when he purchased R.L. Winston in 1973, but over the course of 45 years, he became an icon in the fly fishing industry. Quite simply, Tom worked tirelessly in pursuit of building the perfect rod. While modern rod development has pursued increasingly stiffer rod designs, Tom worked hard to keep the same progressive action that he developed while at Winston. His rods possessed a smoothness and the light, lively feeling so prized by anglers worldwide. He sought designs that emphasized continuous taper blanks with a commitment to the importance of a sensitive tip. He added the best components he could find, from a carefully chosen group of suppliers committed to making he very highest quality products. To this mix he added a unique commitment to traditional design and fine craftsmanship, it is true that the the whole of a finished Morgan rod is truly greater than the sum of its parts. Were fortunate to be located in heart of trout country in Bozeman, Montana. Joel, Matt and the rest of the TMR team are committed to crafting rods locally, supporting their community and raising kids who play in the rivers and fish Morgan rods. Capitol Fishing Tackle Company was established in New York in 1897. It began in Germany circa 1845, focusing primarily on cutlery. Over fifty years time, the sharpening of surgical instruments and tailors tools, the core of the business, gave way to a new endeavor - handmade fish hooks. When Otto Neff brought his family to New York in 1897, he opened the first of Capitols locations on 34th Street and 3rd Avenue. His son, Charles "Charlie" Neff learned the family business here, eventually taking it over from his father in the 1930s. In 1942 the store moved to 7th Avenue between 22nd and 23rd Street. 1964 saw another move to the well-known space below the historic Chelsea Hotel where the current owner, a former employee, took the helm in 1974. Here it remained for the next 42 years, until 2006, when Capitol Fishing arrived on West 36th Street between 7th Avenue and Broadway.

Welcome to Lakeridge Athletic Club. Located on six acres and nestled in the hills of El Sobrante, our 22, 000 square foot, country-club-style health and fitness resort is a full-service athletic club equipped to provide something for everyone. Originally opened in the 1960s as Canyon Swim Club, the Club boasted one of the largest pools in the county with six, 25-yard lap lanes, a section equal in size to the lap pool for splashing and relaxing, and a range in depth from 2 feet to 12 feet. When racquetball grew in popularity in the early 70s, the Club responded by expanding the facility and building eight racquetball courts and changing their name to Canyon Swim and Racquet Club. As the community grew and local interests and needs changed, the Club continued to evolve and converted four of the racquetball courts into a fitness center with areas designated for free weights, weight machines, and cardiovascular equipment as well as an upstairs aerobics studio. In the mid 80s, the Club changed its name again to the now familiar Lakeridge Athletic Club and installed four outdoor, lighted tennis courts, an outdoor basketball court, a sauna and Jacuzzi, and a childcare facility to truly become full-service. In October 2001, the Club continued its forward growth with major renovation programs including tennis court resurfacing, locker room upgrades, new wood aerobics floor, racquetball court flooring, new state-of-the-art weight machines and cardiovascular equipment, lobby re-design, pool upgrades, and new sports flooring throughout the fitness rooms just to name a few. With ongoing mid and long-range facility-improvement and upgrade plans, Lakeridge Athletic Club will continue to remain on the cutting edge of fitness. We are your full-service health and fitness resort - a place where you will be proud to bring the whole family and friends.
