Founded in 1894, YWCA is a social service organization dedicated to supporting women and families suffering from poverty, violence and discrimination. Based in Seattle, Wash., the organization renders an array of services, including emergency shelter, housing assistance, personalized case management, counseling, employment assistance and career coaching. It also offers domestic violence prevention as well as access to health care services for immigrant and HIV/AIDS affected women. In addition, YWCA conducts numerous programs, such as Family Homelessness Prevention, Housing Access and Services Program, Permanent Housing Stability Program and more.
