The Mount Kisco Fire Department is an all-volunteer department that operates out of three fire houses within the village's boundaries. They are Mutual Engine & Hose, Co., No. 1, Union Hook & Ladder Co., No. 1., Rescue Fire Police and Independent Fire Company.
There is one chief for the whole department, and line and administrative officers for all three fire houses.
In addition, the fire department helps residents in nearby New Castle and Bedford.
The Archville Fire Department is located at the northeast corner of Route 9 and Union Street. It has been around since 1907, when neighbors in Archville and Scarborough built a tower and stocked it with buckets. This station covers the westernmost part of the town of Mount Pleasant, bordered to the north by Briarcliff Manor and to the south by Sleepy Hollow. The firehouse is located at Arch Hill, a section of the Albany Post Road known for its steep curve, its slipperiness in winter and its accidents. The 20-person department still has its vintage 1907 hand-pumper fire truck, which is brought out for parades and other events.
About: Founded in 1923, the Bedford Fire Department is the town's newest fire department. It has a fleet of three engines, one rescue truck, one mini-attack and two SUVs. As the only fire station in town offering emergency medical response services, it also has an ambulance.
Fire Chief: Jason Siemers
The Sound Beach Fire Department was founded in 1930, when a multitude of trees and brush surrounding the few beach houses in the area made homes prone to fire. Today the department owns 15 vehicles, including 5 trucks, 2 ambulances and a boat for rescues on the Long Island Sound. The department also operates a Junior Fire Department and allows residents of the fire district to rent rooms in its facilities for various meetings.
About: Operating since 1903, the Bedford Hills Fire Department is a 90-member brigade consisting of four divisions: Engine Co., led by Capt. Manny Acuna; Hook & Ladder Co., headed by Capt. Rick Palmesi; Rescue Co., led by Ross Burbank; and Junior Corp., headed by Jonathan Spano.
This fire station has nine pieces of active apparatus: two fire engines, one rescue truck, one tanker, one mini-attack, one tower ladder and three SUVs. It also houses one vintage engine, which is no longer in service.
The department responds to calls for fire alarms, motor vehicle fires and accidents, smoke investigations as well as specialized rescue operations.
Aside from serving Bedford Hills, this department also offers a Firefighter Assist Search Team (FAST Team) to neighboring communities.

Juniors:
In 2000, the Syosset Volunteer Fire Department realized that its current membership needed a new way to attract and retain younger members that were willing, but unable – due to age, to participate in learning how to become a firefighter.
The Syosset Fire Department – Explorer Post 588 is comprised of roughly 15 active members. Minimum age requirement is 14 with the permission of parents or legal guardian. They meet on a regular basis and, participate in activities and training scenarios that provide the foundation for continuation towards an active firefighter status when they reach 18 years old.
Each member is issued equipment and a uniform from their own officer's and active Syosset Volunteer Fire Department 'advisors" at pre determined times. Members are encouraged to participate in training and are encouraged to help out around the fire house, fire scenes and other Department functions. Juniors "march" in official parades with the Department at functions throughout the year.
