The Hermiston Fire & Emergency Services is a full-service public safety department that works to protect the lives and property of citizens from fire, medical emeregncies, hazardous materials and environmental causes through public education and code management. It operates more than two fire stations and serves in an area of over 150 square miles. The department is comprised of nearly 20 volunteer members and approximately 10 full-time firefighters and paramedics. The Hermiston Fire & Emergency Services is also responsible for safety inspections, vehicle maintenance, fire suppression, specialized rescue services and hazardous material incidents response.
