General Roll Leaf began in 1950 under the sole ownership of Norman Zelman. Over the years, Norman built the company into the largest distributor of hot stamping foils in the United States and to this day General maintains that industry leadership. In the early 1990s, Peter Budelman, then owner of his own foil distributorship, became a partner with Norman bringing over 20 years of experience and expertise to the company. With his knowledge of the business, Peter was able to streamline General and expand its reach into many new businesses. In early 2006, Peter purchased the company from Norman and is now the sole owner and president of General Roll Leaf. Peters vision is that General Roll Leaf always be about service. We want our customers to be able to pick up the phone and speak to someone without it being a difficult procedure. We want to help our customers produce fine finished pieces-to make their work easier. Thats what we do every day. Peters vision was also about having a family company. Tom, Barbara, Brenda, Jen, Jimmy in the warehouse, and Dawn in cutting are all family. We go out of our way to help our customers-something we would do for one another-something we do every day.
