Babe Zaharias Golf Course is as challenging for pros as it is for beginners. At 6,244 yards, this course features four par-4s in excess of 400 yards, perfect for all skill levels. It even offers lessons for children and adults.
Opened in 1926 as the Forest Hills Golf & Country Club, "The Babe" as it is locally known, was the home of Mildred Ella "Babe" Zaharias who is Guinness Book record holder as one of the most versatile female athletes. In fact, she won a U.S. Women's Open Championship in 1954, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer and carrying a colostomy bag.
Facilities include a pro shop as well as a restaurant. The Babe also hosts frequent amateur tournaments and the space may be rented out for private events and banquets.
Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club is member's only club located on South MacDill Avenue. It was opened in 1916 and continues to be a premier golf course. Members can rent golf clubs and carts and enjoy 18 holes in a pristine setting.
The Claw At USF claims to be the most challenging golf course in the New Tampa community. Terrace Hill Golf Club is located off of Temple Terrace Highway. It offers a rare use of its nine hole gold course and is the only course in Tampa that offers night tee times. It is open seven days a week.

Countrywide is a challenging course playing to a par of 61, with 11 par 3 holes and seven par 4 holes. It's been in business for 18 years and is partly owned by Dave Creighton, a former professional hockey player. Greens fees for 18 holes varies from $12 to $23, depending on start time.
