In 1905, August Ohmstede established a job shop in Beaumont, Texas, specializing in auto and general machinery repairs. In the 1940s Ohmstede became one of the industry leaders in the manufacturing and maintenance of heat exchangers. The company maintains five full-service manufacturing plants. More than 500 employees fabricate and maintain shell and tube heat exchangers, providing worldwide field service.
