The IBM Almaden Research Center is a laboratory that conducts a variety of researches in the fields of science and technology. It is spread over an area of more than 650 acres. The center is comprised of over 400 researchers. The IBM Almaden Research Center works with product developers to create and improve IBM services. Its areas of research include fundamental science, nanotechnology, spin physics and photoresistance. The company also offers services related to content management, human-computer interaction, service-oriented architecture, text analytics and health care informatics. The IBM Almaden Research Center maintains a research storage systems group that handles researches in the areas of redundant array of inexpensive disks, parallel file systems and enterprise backup and restore. It has also completed projects in the areas of data mining, materials analysis, organic electronics and storage platform resiliency.
