Steppingstone provides support and education to these young people while they become self-reliant, productive members of the community. The Annie Malone Children and Family Service Center has, since its inception more than 100 years ago, helped to improve the quality of life for children, families and the community utilizing education and social services. The center offers a range of programs and community services including residential treatment, early childhood education, parenting classes, crisis intervention, psychiatric counseling and adoption support. It annually serves more than 130 children in residential care, 200 families in the crisis center, 400 day-care clients and 1,000 teenagers through community based programs. Its Emerson Academy is a certified elementary school offering kindergarten through fifth grade enrollment and is an alternative educational setting for students with behavioral disorders, learning disabilities and educable mental handicaps. The center is supported by donations that can also be made online and by voluntary service. The Annie Malone Children and Family Service Center is located in St. Louis.
