Stamford Hospital is a non-profit community teaching hospital that serves the entire city and its surrounding communities. Founded in 1896, Stamford Hospital's Main Campus provides 305 inpatient beds in medicine, surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry and medical and surgical critical care units. Located within the Stamford Hospital, Van Munching Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit is a specified unit dealing with extreme illness, injury or trauma. Offering in-and-outpatient rehabilitation services, Van Munching Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit is staffed by a team of dedicated medical professionals, and includes gym facilities, rehabilitation nurses and physicians and physical, speech and occupational therapists.
The Stamford VA Primary Care Clinic provides general medical care for U.S. veterans. Services include physical exams, laboratory tests, X-rays and preventative care.
