Established in 1985, the Artemis Center For Alternatives To Domestic Violence provides early intervention, supportive services and education for the victims of domestic violence and their children. In partnership with the Volunteer Lawyers Project, the center provides legal services to victims of civil domestic violence and handles matters related to temporary protection orders and related relief. It offers information to victims about civil and criminal matters, as well as court escort services. The center administers programs to assist child witnesses in developing skills and strategies to cope with domestic violence. It also offers individual and family therapy sessions to parents and assists in rebuilding parent and child relationships. In association with YWCA, the center organizes The Family Violence Collaborative program that assists law enforcement, criminal justice, child protection and health care professionals to develop policies to cope with domestic violence. The Artemis Center For Alternatives To Domestic Violence is located in Dayton, Ohio.
