About Quilt Rack We are located in downtown North Platte, Nebraska. We opened our store on Thanksgiving weekend in 2002. Our beginning inventory consisted of 650 bolts of fabric and a respectable amount of books, patterns and notions. The original store size was approximately 3100 sq ft and it seemed that we would never be able to fill all that room-boy were we wrong! In 2008 we had totally outgrown our space. We added an additional 2000 sq ft to the original building. Now with well over 5000 sq ft we boast over 4500 bolts of fabric-a great room for classes and display-and just about anything else that a quilter might need to complete their project. Boy has this been fun. Our store was originally built as a lumberyard in the 1940s and we sit right beside the railroad tracks. This helped us with our phrase "We sell fabrics by the yards".
