It's suited for people who want to enjoy each other without distractions. Beltane's beer selection, presented on 12 taps, is full-bodied, eclectic and available to-go. If you're hungry, bring your own — only pretzels and peanuts are available. Live acoustic music presented on some evenings.
Trek Winery, which was operated out of a Novato home and various locations in Sonoma County in the past, opened a tasting room, banquet facility and working winery in downtown Novato in September 2012. Novato native Andy Podshadley makes several varieties of wine at the facility, which for decades served as home of Tresch Electric Co. Visitors can purchase wines by the glass, bottle or case and complement their on-site orders with hors d'ouevres or full meals ordered from nearby restaurants. The building has several rooms suited for gatherings and special events.
In October 2012, Springboard Wine Company moved from San Rafael to Novato. Three sisters — Chloe Beard, Sybil Ajay and Elizabeth Downing — started the company in 2006 and focuses on assisting with distribution for smaller-owned wineries. Springboard employs 18 sales representatives covering a territory that spans from Humboldt County to San Diego. This is not a retail outlet.
