Founded in 1969 to sell automated watering systems for small animals, Edstrom Industries was soon designing sophisticated systems for animal research facilities. Its product line includes water purification systems, vivarium management software and hardware and preventive maintenance service. Edstrom has grown from a handful of family members working in a spare bedroom to a diverse organization of almost 200 people, occupying a 115,000-square-foot manufacturing and design facility. To control the tight tolerances that its mechanical products require, Edstrom has invested in the latest CNC machine technology. From machining and sheet metal fabrication to silicone rubber molding and electropolishing, it has integrated all mission critical functions into its operations. Edstrom is a privately-owned company that is based in Waterford, Wis.
