About Us In 1980, Jay Kamin opened the Money Tree at 3600 East State in Rockford. Jay began as a buyer of coins, gold and silver. Perhaps you remember the TV commercials, "Turn rings into cash!", featuring Jays wife, Susan. Purchasing and selling Estate Jewelry and diamonds became an integral part of our business. We developed a reputation as the go-to store in this area to sell precious metals and jewelry. We slowly added new lines of jewelry to complement our estate offerings. One of our first brands, Citizen Watches, has expanded, and today we carry the largest selection of Citizen Eco-Drive watches in the area. In 1996 we moved to our current location at State Street and Mulford. In 2000 we changed our name to J.Kamin Jewelers to reflect the changes in our business. In addition to ever-expanding jewelry lines we now offer value-added customer programs. A Rewards Card Program and complimentary restaurant certificates for referrals are ways to give back to our customers. J.
