This Catholic ministry serves young adults. It is located between the campuses of University of Michigan-Dearborn and Henry Ford Community College. The center is affiliated with the Archdiocese of Detroit. At the center, young adults gather to serve, to pray, to learn and to play. In addition to mass, activities include social gatherings, art studio time and guest speakers. The center also supports outreach programs such as Habitat for Humanity and Gleaners Food Bank. The center is named for Father Gabriel Richard, Detroit's "pioneer priest," whose contributions included establishing Detroit's first public library, printing Detroit's first newspaper and being a co-founder of the forerunner of the University of Michigan.

Founded in 1933, the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission is a non-profit organization that provides support to homeless citizens in southwest Michigan. It offers short-term emergency shelter and food, as well as a variety of long-term programs to address homelessness issues. The organization operates residential services department that provides various amenities, such as bedrooms, bathrooms, lounges, common areas, dining rooms, playgrounds and laundry facilities through mens, womens and children s ministries. The Kalamazoo Gospel Mission runs the Discipleship Program, which offers individual, family and group counseling to overcome issues of substance abuse, negative self-worth and childhood abuse. It organizes food drives to distribute cereal, sugar, juices, salt, spices, condiments, salads, cheese, plastic tableware, paper napkins, and canned and dried items. The organization is supported by individuals, churches, businesses, community groups and foundations. Its auto department provides career opportunities and resells donated vehicles at affordable prices for low-income members. The Kalamazoo Gospel Mission is located in Kalamazoo, Mich.
