Established in 1984 and located in Boise, Idaho, the World Center for Birds of Prey is the world headquarters of The Peregrine Fund, which is a nonprofit organization operating several national and international bird conservation programs. The organization also operates programs in Hawaii for the breeding of endangered birds. It has a field station in northern Arizona and an office in Sheridan, Wyo. The Peregrine Fund houses more than 200 falcons and condors for breeding. The organization undertakes various conservation projects, such as Aplomado Falcon Restoration, Neotropical Environmental Education, Pan Africa Conservation Program and Bald Eagle Release and Recovery. In addition, it organizes special activities, including outdoor flight demonstrations by falcons and hawks.
