Since 1793, The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) has been a builder, caretaker and curator of many landmark buildings of the United States. Some of these buildings include U.S. Capitol, Capitol Visitor Center, Senate Office buildings, White House Office buildings, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, U.S. Botanic Garden and Capitol Campus grounds. The organization s primary functions involve maintenance, operation, development and preservation of 16.5 million square feet of buildings and more than 450 acres of land, throughout the Capitol complex. Some of its affiliations include the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, The American Institute of Architects, Construction Industry Institute, National Building Museum, International Association of Museum Facility Administrators (IAFMA) and International Facility Management Association (IFMA).

National Park Service is a bureau of the United States Department of the Interior. It manages more than 350 facilities, such as national parks, monuments, battlefields, military parks, historic sites, lakeshores, recreation areas, scenic rivers and trails. Rock Creek Park was founded in 1890 and is operated by the National Park Service, a bureau within the Department of the Interior. The park has a variety of animals and plants, including coyotes, raccoons, owls, deer and various species of trees. It offers a wide variety of activities and facilities, including interpretative and educational programs, concerts, a Shakespearean theater, bicycling, more than 30 picnic areas, playgrounds and over 25 soft- and hard-surface tennis courts. Its activities and facilities also include hiking and bridle trails, an exercise course, roller blading, and an 18-hole public course with a clubhouse, lockers and a snack bar. It has a boat center that offers lessons and provides bicycles, kayaks, canoes, small sailboats and rowing equipment on rent. Rock Creek Park is located in Washington, D.C.
