The Public Works Department of Westwood maintains the city's streets, storm drains, sidewalks, sewers, public land and trees. It also provides recycling collection services.
The Framingham Public Works Department has several offices in town. One is located in room 213 inside the Memorial Building (Framingham Town Hall) in downtown Framingham.The Division of Public Works has several departments, including highway, water, sewer, engineering, solid waste management, wastewater, and recycling. The department is under the direction of Peter Sellers.The Highway Department is responsible for the maintaining and repairing the roads and sidewalks in town. The department is also responsible for plowing and treating, in winter, 550 lane miles of public roads, 38 municipal and school parking facilities, and 115 miles of sidewalks and public pathways.
The Highway Department oversees about 175 miles of roads. It's responsible for resurfacing and snow removal, among other duties. The department is also responsible for maintaining municipal building grounds. It's not responsible for school grounds. The superintendent is Richard Barrett. The town engineer is Paul Starratt.
The Public Works Department handles the maintenance and operations of various municipal services including town lighting, sanitation, plowing and sanding, trash collection, recycling programs, yard waste and the collection of hazardous materials.
Malden's Public Works Department is responsible for trash collection, snow treatment and removal, street and park maintenance, and other similar duties, helping to keep Malden clean and in good repair. The city yard can accept oversize refuse from residents for a fee.
The facility also houses the traffic maintenance department.
