Big Trees Forest Preserve is a tree, plant and wildlife sanctuary open for public enjoyment and education. It features two creeks and a number of white oak trees that are more than a century old. Once a threatened wild area in a highly developed section of Sandy Springs, Big Trees is now a place for people to walk, learn and relax in a natural Georgia habitat. Leashed dogs are welcome, and donations are always accepted.

This multi-use park and amphitheater is the emotional and cultural center of Suwanee. It is located at Buford Highway and Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, across from City Hall. Regular events include a farmer's market, and occasional events include Suwanee Day, concerts and performing arts.

Also, the annual Taste of Suwanee has featured many area merchants.

Adams Park consists of 33 acres of well-maintained athletic fields and recreational areas. The park includes several baseball and softball fields as well as a soccer field and two tennis courts. Other amenities include a playground and picnic areas. The Ben Robertson Community Center, located on park grounds, offers several community programs and features a banquet hall and several meeting rooms. It also houses the administrative offices of the City of Kennesaw Parks & Recreation Department.

Cobb County Sweat Mountain Park offers residents three baseball fields, batting cages, two practice fields, four tennis courts, a playground, a picnic pavilion, a concession building and a dog park. There is an area for large dogs and an area for smaller dogs weighing 30 pounds or less. The park has benches conveniently located for dog owners to sit and enjoy watching their pets play.

The Buford Community Center, Town Park & Theatre is a multi-venue public use facility. It boasts the Sylvia Beard Theatre, a ballroom, multi-purpose rooms, a nine acre park with an amphitheatre, interactive water fountain and picnic areas. The space is available for a variety of uses including weddings, meetings, receptions, performances, film screenings and more. The staff is equipped to assist in events and provide ticketing, AV equipment, concessions, ushers and catering.

Operated by the city of Atlanta, Peachtree Hills Park and Community Center features a ball field, tennis courts, a community garden, a playground and walking trails. The Friends of Peachtree Hills Park are working hard to improve the park, and it has already become a popular gathering place for community members who gather to garden, play with their kids and walk their dogs. Along with the amenities of an urban park, the walking trails lead past undeveloped nature areas, including a creek that runs through the park. Glover Park on the Historic Marietta Square is the place for special events like weddings, concerts and festivals. Reminiscent of a Victorian square, the park has many amenities such as a gazebo, a multitiered centerpiece fountain, a train engine playground, a stage and many benches to rest on.

The city of Cartersville's largest park and recreation facility, Dellinger Park, offers an Olympic size swimming pool open to the public May through September, 14 lighted tennis courts, six softball fields, a football/soccer field with 440-yard track, two playgrounds, two outdoor basketball courts, 2-mile lighted vita course with exercise stations, 19-hole miniature golf course open to the public from 2pm to 8pm Saturday and Sunday, 4-acre lake with island gazebo, four large picnic shleters available by reservation and a number of small picnic shelters available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Dellinger Park plays host to a number of community events, including the annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Oakleaf Church, Stars and Stripes Fourth of July Celebration and Annual Frisbee Dog Championships hosted by the Etowah Humane Society.
