Dedicated to teaching the art of dance in its many forms for more than 30 years, San Ramon Valley Dance Academy offers classes for students of all levels and ages. Traditional ballet classes are available as well as modern, jazz, hip-hop, tap and Bollywood classes, which are growing increasingly popular. The academy also has gymnastics, tumbling and Pilates-based stretch classes for those looking to improve coordination, flexibility and strength. Children with special needs are invited to join a program designed with their abilities in mind.

The Impact Dance Center is a 7,000- square-foot studio with four dance rooms, a private music room and dressing area. For students who have to complete school work, there is also a quiet homework room. The studio offers dance classes and related services to children, teens and adults throughout the week. For over 50 years, the Sonoma Community Center has supported the artistic and educational life of the city, by sponsoring public programming. It offers classes in pottery, painting, music, yoga, jazzersize and various elements of personal development. Its large auditorium regularly supports theater performances, movie nights, and gallery shows. The artist-in-residence program brings recognition and support to professional and student artists. The space also functions as an incubator for non-profits, and many local groups have gotten their start here: including the Boys and Girls club of Sonoma. Peninsula Ballet Theatre is the only professional dance company in San Mateo County. Its Conservatory of Dance offers a wide range of instruction in its studios, each taught by professional dancers. Classes include ballet, pre-ballet, modern, zumba, hip-hop, ballroom, latin (salsa, rumba), island, tango, and folklorico Mexicano. Yoga and back fitness are also offered.
Located in the former Circuit City building at the crossroads of highways 101 and 92, they teach to adults and children of all levels of experience. Regular performances are shown throughout the year as well. While the theatre is located on South Grant Street, its office is situated in downtown San Mateo on 2nd Avenue.

For more than 25 years, Dance 10 Performing Arts Center has offered a variety of dance classes for all ages. Students are encouraged to try several types of dance. Classes are offered for beginners to advanced dancers to improve techniques and broaden skills.
Peninsula School of Performing Arts is a dance studio for young men and women ages 5 and up. It was established in the 1980s as a creative outlet for South Bay residents and has one other location in nearby Rolling Hills Estates. The school has classes in styles such as ballet, jazz and tap as well as acrobatics. Teams are put together to perform at various recitals. Adult classes are also available.
This is a small dance studio that has individual and group dancing lessons for those that are members. Entry is discouraged by outside individuals as it may interupt the time that each student is paying to be taught. Calling in for appointments is appreciated.

The Contra Costa Civic Theatre celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2010. From My Fair Lady to Thoroughly Modern Millie, the plays here reflect a wide range of styles and tastes. This building was erected in 1971 to act as the permanent home for the Theatre after moving between many different venues across the city, including the building that now houses Atlas Liquors. Box-office sales, tuition fees and donations all go toward keeping the Theatre open and active. Youth programs, including summer camp, drama and music classes, take place here as well.
