United Methodist Church of Green Trails strives to walk a middle ground of Chesterfield churches as the Reverend Nate Berneking says. He said he felt in the area there is a choice between attending a large, exciting church or a smaller church that provides the congregation with a "church family" but is less energizing.
"We hope to be both," Berneking said. "We're building a great spiritual network, where you feel at home and there are exciting opportunities."
The church is involved in several local ministries, including Shalom House and Kingdom House. Recently, a church group travelled to Mozambique to help build a seminary to train leaders in the civil war-torn country.
About 12 small groups meet during the week and the youth group is very active. Youth meet every Sunday, take two annual mission trips and do other charity work throughout the year.
Celebrating its 45th year in 2010, St. Andrew United Methodist Church provides opportunities not only to connect with God but with the community at large. The church hosts a preschool for children, as well as a number of programs for developing the United Methodist faith and character.
St. John's Lutheran Church has been ministering to the people of Arnold for more than 150 years. The church offers a variety of ministries and organizations for children, youth, adults and senior adults. St. John's invites new and old members to grow as a congregation. Loaves and Fishes, Inc is a shelter for women, children and families that provides food and shelter for eligible parties in need. Founded by doctors Donald and Dorothy Femmer, Loaves and Fishes Inc. provides shelter for more than 200 women and children each year.
Spirit & Truth Church welcomes the community to worship with its congregation at services that incorporate contemporary live music and a sermon. Each newcomer receives a follow-up phone call from a church member to gauge engagement and extend a return invitation. The church sponsors robust ministry programs for children, youth, women, men, new members, the hearing impaired and those interested in music and drama.
The affiliated Spirit & Truth Pre-School & Daycare is a Christian-based learning center for children aged 2 to 12 years, open on weekdays from 6am to 6pm.
The Rock Church of Saint Louis is led by Pastor Timothy Cowin. It is a casual contemporary facility for people of all backgrounds. The main focus is on God, not religion. The congregation meets in other places, but this is its primary location. The church's motto is "Love God + Love People = Change the World."
St. Mark's United Methodist Church hasn't changed greatly in its 55-year history. Previously located across the street, the church offers a great deal of tradition with a contemporary feel, and it also provides coffee and doughnuts for everyone.
Summit Church is a midsize nondenominational congregation that features a contemporary worship style. The church had its beginnings in 1994, with services at Rockwood Summit High School for four years until its facility was built in 1999. The congegation at Summit Church is very active and involved in a variety of ministries, including A Higher Standard for women, Mighty Men for men and Consuming Fire for youth. There are also a variety of programs and child care available for the children of the church.
Twin Rivers Worship Center is a large congregation that offers a mix of traditional and contemporary services. Though the congregation is large, everyone is invited to meet in the lobby after the service to convene with the Pastor and get acquainted. Twin Rivers Worship Center offers ministries, life groups, family life night and elder ministries.
White Flag Christian Church is located on Telegraph Road in Oakville and is overseen by Head Pastor Paul Wingfield. Sunday worship is held at 9am and 10:45am on Sundays. Worship services are also held on Saturday at 5pm. There are numerous ministries and study groups available. The church's Next Kids ministry provides education and childcare for nursery, preschool and elementary aged children.
Located in St. Louis, in the close-in suburb of Clayton, The Church of St. Michael & St. George is a parish made alive in Christ and celebrating this life through the Anglican liturgy and sacraments with vibrant preaching and teaching, and beautiful, traditional music.
