Our community of faith includes people of all ages, from all walks of life, and at different stages in their journeys of faith. We look forward to how your participation will further our desire to extend the love of God and the love of neighbor in the world. Worship is at the heart of what we do, and we are careful to remember that our worship is not an escape from life but rather it sends us into the world to bear witness to the work of God making all things new. As our Vision Statement proclaims, we gather for worship, service, and fellowship so that we can meet Christ in each other; pray earnestly; listen carefully; sing joyfully, all so that God can send us out to join boldly with the Spirit work in the world.

A General Statement of What We Believe: In these days of confusing religious pluralism, it seems prudent for us to offer a general statement of what we believe. It is offered as a broad framework to help unify our community of faith and to inform you, a person whom we assume is seeking to find a like-minded community of Christians. About God: We believe there is one divine being who has existed eternally. God is the Creator, Ruler and Sustainer of the universe. He exists and reveals himself to humanity in three distinct, equally divine personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Spiritual Gifts ( Serve God ) Spiritual gifts, personal style, passion for serving, servant guide... What are all these buzzwords floating around the church? Is it just another fad that is here today and gone tomorrow? Why are we changing course? If it isnt broken, why are we trying to fix it? God has directed our focus to reemphasize our existence as a biblical community, to achieve a better understanding of the purpose of our church, and to more fully understand our unique role within our church. By allowing members to serve based on the spiritual gifts given to them by Holy Spirit, the church can better fulfill its great commission of making disciples for Jesus Christ. God wants the ministries in the hands of the believers. This means we need to discover and understand the spiritual gifts given to each one of us in order to achieve this goal. To be good stewards of these spiritual gifts, we are expected to use them effectively to further the work of the church. 1 Timothy 4: 14 says Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you. Help is available to see Gods will for us and for his church. Spiritual Gifts classes are offered throughout the year to help identify the spiritual gifts given to each one of us as a believer. If you have already taken this type of class in the past, please consider joining a class at Pender. It is amazing how our lives may change over the course of a few years. Where God may be calling you to serve now may be different from where you have served in the past. Participating in a class with fellow believers can be very rewarding as you undergo the assessment survey and discover things about yourself that you may not have thought about before. Once you learn about your spiritual gifts, you will serve more confidently and competently in those ministries where your gifts can be best utilized and the church as a whole will benefit. Listed below are some of the benefits other churches have realized after switching to gift-based ministries.
