The Western Illinois Regional Council is an organization that provides technical assistance to local governments and officials who are facing community and economic development issues. It serves the western Illinois counties of Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Knox, McDonough and Warren. Operational for more than 25 years, the agency s services include water and sewer systems improvements, housing rehabilitation and economic development strategies. The Western Illinois Regional Council is located in Macomb, Ill., and is the parent organization to the WIRC-Community Action Agency, which serves the victims of domestic and sexual violence. The organization provides emergency and counseling services and advocacy assistance.
