Deseret Power is a regional generation and transmission nonprofit cooperative that offers power options to various retail systems. It sells surplus power to municipalities, power marketers and other wholesale electric systems. The company has operations in Utah and owns more than 223 miles of transmission and over 550 mega watts of generation lines. Deseret Power generates resources through the Bonanza Power Plant, which is one of the leading environmentally clean coal fired plants in the United States. It is owned by its member systems, including Bridger Valley Electric, Dixie Escalante, Flowell Electric, Garkane Energy and Moon Lake Electric. The company is also a transmission provider and offers open access transmission services to eligible parties in accordance with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
