Located on the second floor of the United Methodist Church building, the Cooperative Nursery School of Ridgewood has served the community for 42 years. The preschool offers Mommy and Me classes through prekindergarten, lunchtime activities and a weeklong summer camp.
Because the school is a co-op, parents are required to volunteer classroom time. Each morning and afternoon class has three adults for the 10 to 16 students (ranging from a teacher and two parents for younger students to a teacher, aide and parent for older students). There is rolling enrollment throughout the year.
West Side Nursery School is a pres-school on Monroe Street.

Daily playtime on the half-acre playground, as well as weekly music and physical education sessions, are also part of the curriculum. Eighteen classes are offered at the school, ranging from special “Parent and Me” classes for two-and-a-half-year-olds to five-day preschool classes for four-year-olds. Bethlehem Early Learning Center is a Lutheran-affiliated preschool and kindergarten for children ages 2 1/2 to 6 years old. The school offers morning, afternoon, full-day classes and enrichment classes.
Ridgewood Nursery School and Kindergarten has been serving the community since 1935. The school has been at its present location for seven years. It features large classrooms replete with educational games and toys.
The Infant Toddler Development Center is located within the same school building as Ridgewood Nursery School and Kindergarten. The center has an excellent facility, with spacious classrooms and high-quality playgrounds.
Little Crane Montessori School is a coeducational day school that has been affiliated with the American Montessori Society (AMS) since 1998. The school, which offers small class sizes, follows a unique educational method developed by Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952), and its philosophy maintains that "the children of our school have the best opportunity to absorb sense, create and experiment with a nurturing, multi-age classroom and a highly qualified faculty."
Friend's Neighborhood Nursery School is a private, non-profit, non-sectarian nursery school sponsored by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). The school, for children ages 2-4, is a member of the Friends Council on Education and offers a supportive and creative environment for children to grow and learn. Both morning and afternoon sessions are available.
