Located just three miles west of Downtown Atlanta, Mozley Park includes a 100-person pavilion with a grill, a playground, two picnic shelters, two lighted softball fields, a tennis court, a basketball court, two multi-use courts, a PATH trail, a swimming pool and a recreation center. 

The park is maintained by the city's Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. For park reservations, call 404-546-6757. To reserve a pavilion, call the reservation number and be prepared to submit an application. As with all city parks, Mozley Park is governed by the city's Office of Parks official Park Use Rules and Guidelines

Garden Hills Park, the centerpiece of the Garden Hills neighborhood, is a gathering place for friends and families. During summertime, the pool is full of kids, moms and dads. The community center welcomes community meetings, parties and musical events. A open field is the site of soccer games, kite flying, Frisbee and other activities. An annual highlight is the neighborhood ice cream social. The Garden Hills Neighborhood Foundation (www.ghnf.org) supports the city-owned park.

Operated by the city of Atlanta, Peachtree Hills Park and Community Center features a ball field, tennis courts, a community garden, a playground and walking trails. The Friends of Peachtree Hills Park are working hard to improve the park, and it has already become a popular gathering place for community members who gather to garden, play with their kids and walk their dogs. Along with the amenities of an urban park, the walking trails lead past undeveloped nature areas, including a creek that runs through the park. Originally a family farm, the Perkerson family donated this 50-acres of land to city of Atlanta officials who turned it into a park in the 1950s. The park includes little league, softball and baseball fields, six tennis courts, a basketball court, a 100-person picnic pavilion, and two uncovered picnic areas with grills. Central Park Recreation Center sits on the edge of the 17-acre Central Park. The curvy brick building with yellow accents is operated by the city of Atlanta Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs.

The center offers a variety of programs, from youth football to adult aerobics, cheerleading, photography and hip hop dance. The center has a fitness room and computer lab, which are open Mon - Fri, from 3pm to 8pm and Sat, from 9am to 2pm. The facility closed in 2008 amid city of Atlanta budget cuts, but reopened in August 2010.

Chastain Park, at more than 260 acres, is Atlanta's largest park and serves as a regional park for a broad area beyond Buckhead. The property includes the Northside Youth Organization's fields, a tennis center, arts center, the North Fulton Golf Course, the Chastain Park Amphitheater and a horse park, as well as a PATH walking trail through natural areas and playgrounds. The nonprofit Chastain Park Conservancy, founded in 2003, maintains the park and plans for its development.

Roxboro Valley Swim & Tennis Club is a membership facility nestled in Buckhead not far from Lenox Mall. It offers not only relaxing summers by the pool, but also swim teams and tennis lessons. The heated pool is 25-meters, and the tennis courts are lighted. Other amenities include a baby pool, a picnic pavilion, a children's playground, a vending area, a changing area and showers. The 12.33-acre Brownwood Park is comprised of two long parcels of green space. It is bordered on the north by Portland Avenue, Ormewood Avenue to the south and Brownwood and Gresham avenues to the west and east, respectively.

The park is bisected by Pendleton Street.

The northern parcel boasts tennis and volleyball courts and a basketball court. It also has a covered picnic pavilion and grill and children's jungle gym.

The park also is home to the Brownwood Park Community Garden, which is located near the tennis courts. 

The park's southern parcel is a nice, wooded trail, used by joggers, walkers and dog owners.
