About Islamic Center Islamic Center of Yuma is an Arizona non-profit corporation established in March 1999. The Centers mission is to make it possible for the Muslim community of Yuma to practice the great religion of Islam, to provide religious education for all age groups including children, to bring the Muslim community closer together and to interact actively with the community at large. Founded in 1988, Shoebox Ministry Inc. is a nonprofit service corporation that helps meeting the personal hygiene needs of the homeless and working poor. Based in Scottsdale, Ariz., it is the only agency in the greater Phoenix area dedicated to this cause. The corporation distributes toiletry kits through agencies and shelters which work directly with the homeless and working poor. Some of the agencies include Women in Recovery, Vista Colina, The Bridge, Ozanam Manor, Casa De Amigas and Autumn House. It also conducts donation drives, namely Easter Box-ettes, Mothers Day Purses, Undie Sundie and Holiday Sock Drive.
