Bethany United Methodist Church is a growing and dynamic congregation. Its roots date to the 1800s, but more recent history has involved three area churches combining under one roof along Brookside Road in 1967. Membership has exploded, requiring expansion in 2009 to include a Catasauqua campus. The most recent excitement involved groundbreaking early in 2010 on an additional campus. Site completion is expected in December 2012. Completion will bring the number of campuses to three.

With its rich history and striking architecture, Asbury United Methodist Church rises triumphantly along Springhouse Road and Walbert Avenue. The church opened its doors in South Whitehall Township in 1978, six years after a fire destroyed the church at its previous site in downtown Allentown at the time of its 50th anniversary. At its current location, the church grew and grew, from less than 400 members to more than 1,500 today, requiring two expansions. The church offers a nursery school, ministries and many outreach programs.
The main district offices of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Wesleyan Churches are operated out of this building, located directly behind Trinity Wesleyan Church.
The Diocese of Allentown, which comprises Lehigh, Northampton, Berks, Carbon and Schuylkill counties, has its administrative offices in a section of the Jaindl building off Tilghman street. About 272,000 Catholics reside in the diocese, which was established by Pope John XXIII in 1961. It now maintains 104 parishes, 48 elementary schools, eight high schools and two colleges. In 2009, Bishop John O. Barres was installed as bishop, the fourth to serve the diocese.
As part of the Assemblies of God Fellowship, ValleyChurch aims to lead people into an encounter with God and expresses its commitment to being a people who passionately live out what they believe. Founded in the mid-1990s, the church moved to its current location in fall 2010, after having held services at Catasauqua Middle School. Faith Church was founded in 1966. The current pastor is Joe Henseler and Sunday services are held at 9am and 11am. A "blended" worship with children and adults is held at 9:30am.
New Beginnings Fellowship is tucked off busy Hamilton Blvd. on a hillside overlooking portions of South Whitehall. Pastor Kent Yorgey presides over New Beginnings Fellowship, where it is believed that the Bible is the Word of God. Established in 1952, this church is part of the United Church of Christ Christian denomination. The Allentown church location is lead by the Reverend William Ellsworth. The church is always accepting new members and currently has a choir program for interested candidates. Baptism and Holy Communion are offered throughout the year. First Baptist Church, a conservative Baptist church nestled in a picturesque neighborhood of South Whitehall Towship, is a very active and diverse congregation. In addition to worship services, the church has an abundance of programs: children ministries, bible study groups, outreach missionary work, "the way" coffeehouse, youth and women groups, parenting groups, a praise band and a puppet ministry.
The Allentown Church of God is tucked away on a narrow residential street in the east end of Salisbury Township. It is a family-oriented ministry that reaches out to others in the Lehigh Valley.
Jordan United Church of Christ sits on a woodsy 42 acres, with a cemetery, peace garden, outdoor chapel for summer services, grove and gazebo. It has a rich history dating back to the mid-1700s, when Swiss nobleman Lorentz Guth donated the land to build a log church for the Reformed congregation. As the congregation grew, a new church had to be built in the 1770s and again in 1808. Additions and renovations in subsequent years brought the steeple and bell, a portico, social/recreation hall, nursery and classrooms.
Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church believes the authoritative word of God resides in the Bible. Sunday's schedule begins at 8:30 a.m. with Heritage Service, 9:45 a.m. is Sunday school and then Celebration Service is at 11 a.m. Ministries are available for children, kids and adults.
This temple consists of a community of believers who praise God in song, dance and prayer. Referred to as a joyful church, Cavalry Temple has worship services, Bible study and prayer services, as well as ministries that include the Glory dancers and the Angel Food organization, which provides groceries to communities. Calvary Temple is a distinctive building -- an expansive, white structure visible from Route 22.
Founded in 1914, Trinity Wesleyan Church was renovated in its current location 30 years ago. Sunday worship is at 10:30am. Sunday school precedes worship at 9:30am.
