Highland Park Continuation School is a small public high school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The school enrolls students who have struggled in traditional educational settings. The school has struggled in recent years according to California metrics, with its Annual Performance Index dropping from 548 in 2006 to 537 in 2009. All public schools in the state are required to eventually reach an API of 800.
The Foundation for Early Childhood Education operates locations all over Los Angeles County, nearly 30 in all.
Its main offering is a free preschool program with part- or full-day classes. Home-based tutoring is also available for elementary school students.
The foundation's funding is through grants from the federal government's Head Start program and the City of Los Angeles.

The University features a 30,000-square-foot main campus, a 45,000-volume library and a computer lab with seventy-five personal computers.
Grand View Boulevard Elementary school caters to 600 students from pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade. The school also offers a dual language program, allowing students to study in both English and Spanish. Rosemont Elementary School is in the LAUSD district, serving the community of Rampart/Echo Park area. All teachers are certified and licensed through the State of California. Rosemont Elementary School's staff is there to help the children succeed and enter other schools with confidence in themselves. World Musical Instruments is a music shop located just off Westwood Blvd., underneath Papa John's. The showroom displays many high-end guitars and keyboards. Acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars are available by Yamaha and Takamine, as well as Korq keyboards. The shop also sells mixers, cables, recording equipment, editing equipment, DJ equipment, and guitar accessories. Music lessons are also available.
Sew LA was started in 2007, in the heart of Silverlake, LA's hipster haven. The school offers a number of sewing classes for all levels, whether you're an at home seamstress or an aspiring designer. In addition to classes, Sew LA sells a variety of patterns, fabrics and sewing supplies. The store purchases organic and sustainable fabrics whenever possible and also sells Janome sewing machines. Fabric lines available here include Alexander Henry, Echino and Mettler.
Located in the sprawling Philippine Village Center on Eagle Rock Boulevard, this is a vocational and professional training college for nursing assistants, medical assistants, pharmacy technicians and a place where certified nursing assistants can undertake an accelerated program to become licensed vocational nurses. The college offers a wide range of nursing programs, including pediatric nursing, surgical nursing, maternity nursing, orthopedic nursing and psychiatric nursing.
