Chatsworth High School is so typical of suburban high schools that it was selected by HBO as the site for its fourteen-part Freshman Year documentary, filmed during the 1999-2000 school year. Principal Timothy Guy says, the 3,200-student school has "completed its conversion to contiguous learning zones, our final step in the smaller learning community's process." These learning zones or academies include the Humanitas Academy of Education and Human Services, the Medical Careers Academy, the Arts and Media Academy, the Engineering and Design Academy, the International Business and Government Careers Academy and two Freshman Academies, The Titans and The Olympians. In 2003 and 2004, Chatsworth baseball became the only team to ever win back-to-back national championships, and Chatsworth's drama program has turned out such actors as Kirk Cameron, Val Kilmer, Kevin Spacey and Mare Winningham, among others.

St. John Eudes is not just a Catholic Church. It has a school and playground, too. The large campus centers around a courtyard, with congregation halls, administrative offices and classroom buildings. The church offers mass throughout the week and provides programs for all ages. It hosts social events like Sandwich Sundays, camping and a bridge club. Special religious events include bible study, prayer courses, adult Confirmation, faith sharing groups, parenting seminars and marriage support groups. The school provides Catholic-centered education, based on the mission of Saint Paula Montal.
