Calaveras Montessori School caters to a unique mix of infants, toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners--based on its location at the school district and Calaveras Hills Alternative High School.  The little ones at this Montessori come from the general public, employees of the Milpitas Unified School District and young parents completing their high school education at Cal Hills.

Parents can rest assured that their children are being nurtured and challenged by Montessori-certified teachers. To prove it, there are even "kiddy cams" available on-line for parents to sneak-a-peek on a password protected area of their website. Parents will also find it a delight to watch their little ones march in the Halloween parade, frolic in the Easter egg hunt and hula in the summertime luau.

From sprouting a pinto bean into a tiny plant to hatching a monarch butterfly from its cocoon, Hands On Learning Center is true to its name in providing an education through hands-on experiences.

Children ages 2 to 6 receive a comprehensive curriculum focused on acquiring skills that exceeds the standards for entering kindergarten. For an extra fee, they can take gymnastic and music lessons on top of academic classes.

But it's not just all work at Hands On Learning Center--little ones get to regularly enjoy special events like a petting zoo, a magic show and even a snow day. Christmas shows are always a hit for parents to watch, as is the pre-kindergarten ceremony where grads mimic crossing the stage by sliding down a slide to receive their diploma.

At Safari Kid, there is a "jungle" of activities and academia available to children. Curriculum is based on a child's ability to master certain skills and tasks, rather than based on his or her age. The website boasts that sometimes four-year-olds can read the newspaper. Creativity is also fostered at Safari Kid, where kids can be involved in Bollywood dance, a game of chess or even the Hindi language.
