Tampa Day School was designed for kids who learn differently. The classes, from kindergarten to eighth grade, are small allowing 8-12 students in a classroom. Instructors are qualified to work with students one on one to build confidence and knowledge. The academic programs educate students with learning disbilities, dyslexia, ADD and ADHD. Additional services such as homework lab, activity clubs and early and after-school care are available. Named after 17-year veteran superintendent J. Crockett Farnell, this middle school has been rated an "A" school each year since 2003 by the Florida Department of Education. Principal John Cobb puts an emphasis on exceeding educational standards, and mentoring and volunteering are encouraged, along with academic excellence. The school provides before- and after-school care for $15 and $25 a week, respectively.
