Wannamaker Seeds is a third generation family seed business located in rural Calhoun County, South Carolina. We grow and market a variety of specialty crops for human consumption such as edamame soybean seed, cover crops, onion seed, and wildflower seed. We Have Edamame Seed For You! We became fascinated with edamame in 1995 on a trip to Japan and soon afterwards began trialing edamame to identify ones that perform well in the Southeast where plant diseases and our long, hot season are particularly intense. Bellesoy and Korean Black were the result of these endeavors. We then branched out to include other edamame varieties, specifically Midori Giant, MoJo Green, and Sunrise that grow successfully throughout the United States. Lanco, a green-seeded edamame, was added in 2010. Try our varieties in your area. Consult our MAP to see what variety works best for you or contact us and we will be happy to assist us. All edamame varieties are produced, cleaned, and sized exclusively on our farm or with our contract producers. They are then tested for germination and purity to ensure that you receive the highest quality seed. Buy from us with confidence. For a continuous supply of fresh edamame, remember to plant varieties of different maturities as well as planting the same variety at weekly successions for several weeks. This practice will ensure that you and your customers have fresh edamame available for a long time!
