Providing safe & loving care to children of all ages.The mission of Nebraska Childrens Home Society (NCHS) is to provide safe and loving care to children of all ages.All Nebraska teens and women who are pregnant or believe they may be pregnant have access 24 hours a day; seven days a week to Nebraska Childrens Home Society staff who can provide confidential services that help ensure their wellbeing and that of their unborn child. Through 11 statewide offices NCHS staff provide services that include teen pregnancy prevention, education on parenting or adoption options, assistance to parents who are overwhelmed and children at risk for abuse or neglect, early childhood education, and outreach education to schools, medical staff and the community. The Children and Family Center is a community-based, family-centered neighborhood gathering place where any community resident can go for support, information and services. All services are free and confidential. The Center is located at 3549 Fontenelle Blvd in Omaha, NE. Free prenatal and child development education classes, one-on-one & home based services for young parents, study groups & tutoring for young parents, classes for high school & middle school girls, support groups for parents & grandparents, and information resource and referrals are available. NCHS recruits, trains and supports adoptive and foster parents who can provide safe and loving care to children of all ages, including children that are medically fragile. NCHS builds families through adoption and provides lifelong support that equips parents and children to lead happy, healthy lives.
