Located inside North Suburban Wellness, Fit Stop is a personal fitness studio just south of downtown Highland Park. The Deer Creek Courts is an athletic facility in Highland Park. The grounds feature six indoor tennis courts. The company's goal is to provide a fun and affordable tennis experience to Highland Park residents and their families. Heller Nature Center is a nature preserve in north western Highland Park complete with trails, a nature center with museum and several features throughout the site such as a pond, bonfire circle and bird habitat. The center offers a piece of wild Illinois that is not otherwise available in the area. Heller is also available for meetings, birthday parties and other events. Located in a state of the art studio, 2 Hot offers five classes of different types of yoga each day for those looking to increase fitness, flexibility, and mental health. The Centennial Ice Arena is located in central Highland Park. Part of the suburbs large park district, the ice rink hosts public and private skating instruction as well as "open skates" that are open to all ages. Sunset Woods Park is a well-known park in Highland Park and it covers 38 acres of property, all of it fully utilized. Eight of those acres have been designated a natural area. Sunset Woods Park offers a picnic area, as well as facilities for many activities, including a paved path for walkers and runners. For tennis players, there are seven courts all of which are lit; four are soft courts, three are hard courts. There is a skatepark for the skateboarder and an ice rink in the winter. Athletic fields at the park include those for baseball, football and basketball. There are also four playground areas at the park that suit the needs of small children through elementary school age children.
The North Shore Yacht Club is a sporting and recreational club located roughly along the Highland Park lakefront. With no actual, physical headquarters, the club is a loose collection of boats and boating enthusiasts who occupy different docks and berths depending on the day. Membership in the club confers benefits, such as the use of collectively owned boats.
West Ridge Park is located on Ridge Road, but parking may be better by Red Oak School, on Red Oak Lane. The park features two baseball/softball fields, soccer and football fields. There is a .4 mile paved path around the park as well as a playground for tots, preschoolers and elementary school aged children. A batting cage area is also available for practicing.
