The Boys & Girls Club of The South Coast Area aims to help children and young adults learn about topics ranging from nutrition and athletics to arts, technology and current events. This particular center has been around since 1967 and operates on ten elementary and middle school campuses in San Clemente and surrounding areas, with a professional and friendly staff working to provide a fun yet educational environment. Private donations help children of all backgrounds participate and scholarships are available to assist those in need. The center also provides recreational athletic leagues on site for levels ranging from beginner to intermediate. The club is currently offering basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer programs.
Founded in 1970, The Rancho Colorados Swim Club is located in a more rural area of Lafayette, below rolling foothills and fabulous houses. Rancho Colorados offers recreational sports in a leisurely environment. The lower grounds include a large multi-lane swimming pool with a diving board. The upper grounds are home to tennis courts. The club was recently renovated to include new landscaping, a new clubhouse, new courts and a new BBQ area.
