The Division of Labor Standards of the New York State Department of Labor enforces the New York State Labor Laws concerning minimum wage, hours of work, child labor, payment of wages and wage supplements, industrial homework, apparel industry registration, registration of Professional Employer Organizations and farm labor. It also administers the Employment Agency Law outside New York City. The New York State Department of Labor is responsible for a variety of programs, including worker protection, unemployment insurance, employment services and workforce development. The department offers a number of forms and publications. The New York State Department of Labor is a part of the government of the state of New York.
