Temple Beth Avodah is a congregation offering a traditional Jewish education, cultural awareness and communal involvement in temple life. For more than 40 years Congregation Shaaray Shalom has been a diverse and welcoming Jewish community on Bostons South Shore. Our congregations home is on historic and beautiful Main Street in Hingham. A member of the Union for Reform Judaism, we have approximately 275 families from more than 20 towns ranging from Boston to Plymouth, with primary concentrations in Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate, Marshfield, Hull and Hanover. We are led by a dynamic clergy team of Rabbi Shira Joseph and Cantor Steven Weiss and offer weekly Shabbat services as well as a full calendar of festival celebrations, a full program religious school with nearly 200 students and varied adult learning as well as social programs. Ours has always been a tradition of an open door . We strive to make sure that everyone- Jews by choice or by birth as well as their non-Jewish family members - feels at home. Our strength draws on a commitment to build a community that honors and respects the diversity of our own backgrounds. The last two weeks of August and the first two weeks of September are designated as special Shabbatot to welcome in those who would like to learn more information about our synagogue. Ruach Israel is a Messianic Jewish synagogue that conducts regular Shabbat Morning Services and Friday Shacharit Services. This group is heavily involved with helping various causes, including working with Hannah's Hope, Heifer International and most recently sending relief to Haiti. A host of groups meet regularly at Ruach Israel, which is housed within the Greendale Avenue Worship Center. The Ruach Israel Shabbat School provides on-site children's education for ages 3 and up.
