The Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation, NVHC for short, is a synagogue serving more than 400 families from Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. The temple is an affiliate of the Union of Reform Judaism. It offers a welcoming religious community, weekly worship services, discussion groups, adult education and lifecycle events.
NVHC has an active Brotherhood, Sisterhood, Social Action Committee and Youth Groups. The temple is also home to a preschool for children ages 2-5.
Bethel Hebrew Congregation welcomes the community to attend services and embrace Jewish learning, prayer and celebration. The church runs a full-time preschool to help teach the community. In addition, workshops, post-confirmation learning, inter-faith outreach and other education classes are offered.
The historic Fredericksburg Baptist Church and its congregation have borne witness to over two centuries of American history, all located in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg. The current structure was completed in 1855. Less than 10 years later it received battle damage and also served as a union field hospital during the Battle of Fredericksburg in 1862. Across Princess Anne Street from the church is a historical marker which further delves into the history of the church. Inside, the church sanctuary features beautiful stained glass windows which date to 1898. Today the church hosts a wide variety of community outreach and ministry programs.
