service that we call "Dakota Pride".Our Company started as Hawkeye Eagle Grain Trailers in 1968 in Yankton, South Dakota. Many changes occurred over the next 37 years until May 2005 when we became Dakota Trailer Manufacturing, Inc Since that final change consistent growth and expansion has occurred.Our growth over the last 6 years is shown in the number of trailers, employees and dealer networks, along with plant expansions and movements. We went from building approximately 108 trailers with 8 employees in 2005 to current day, where we build over 500 trailers a year with 115 employees. We specialize in fabricating grain hopper trailers and grain boxes. A subsidiary company named Atokad Bodies was started in 2009 and specializes in building mechanic service bodies, gravel belly dumps and gravel bodies. With our Grain Hoppers we do not sell direct, but rather through a dealer network made up of more than 30 trailer dealers in over 16 Mid-West States. We have over 20 box dealers and are expanding every year in both market places. Since becoming Dakota Trailer Manufacturing, Inc, in 2005 we have continued to grow and now sell trailers in Canada, Mexico, and Ukraine. We soon will be moving into the Arab Emirates.Part of our future includes finishing the construction of our new facility in Yankton. This facility will be the first phase of a 3-phase project to bring all Dakota Trailer Manufacturing & Atokad Bodies under one roof.Dakota Trailer Manufacturing, Inc, will continue to expand our marketplace with dealers both instate and abroad while still providing unmatched customer service and quality products.
