Before The Mariposa’s time, shipyards dominated the Mission Bay landscape connecting the native Mission Dolores pasture-land to the waters of the greater Bay. Following the completion of I-280 in the 1960s, the area east of the thoroughfare formed a unique identity and became increasingly known as “Dogpatch.” The Mariposa’s tasteful architecture features a modern play on San Francisco vernacular; the Bay Window. The building employs the bay window to maximize views and expand apartment interiors while simultaneously providing residents with an abundance of natural light. The rhythmic tidal ecosystem of Mission Bay tied with The Mariposa’s smart-modern design perfectly complements the natural elements of Dogpatch. Given its proximity to employers and entertainment venues, The Mariposa caters to San Franciscos dynamic and diverse populace. The Mariposa is an ideal place to call home here in 21st century San Francisco.
