Oasis is a very special place indeed. At any time of day, you can find Brazilian construction workers in mud-splattered clothing, Tufts students in pastels and plaid, cops in uniform and just about anyone who enjoys heaping portions of Brazilian BBQ, called churrasco. There is a buffet on week nights, while at other times your meal is priced by weight. There is limited free parking due to Oasis's popularity, but diners would climb mountains, not to mention wait for a parking place, for these succulent cuts of meat.
South Street Cafe has been in business at this location next to Brandeis for 18 years, and under the current ownership for 5 years. Seating is available both inside and out, with a flat-screen TV, deck cafe tables and benches. Parking is available in two lots, with a handicap-accessible ramp in the back lot.
Located close to the ferryboats, it is no surprise that Jimmy's of Woods Hole is a local favorite pit stop to the ferry boats, tourists and locals. Open seasonally, the small shop has something for everyone including soups, fresh salads, jumbo subs, breakfast sandwiches, award winning gourmet pizza, lobster rolls, hearty sandwiches, "Jimmy burgers" and black bean burgers. Desserts include freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, farm fresh ice cream, banana splits, milk shakes, ice cream floats and organic smoothies. Jimmy's not only does made-to-order takeout but will also do large orders to take for a "picnic" lunch.
