Syracuse Water Department maintains more than 50 wells, 10 booster stations, 17 reservoirs, 36 chlorination and sample stations, and over 170-miles of water main pipeline and a complex pressure-reducing network. Located in Syracuse, N.Y., the department offers a wide variety of water conservation and community outreach programs. Its technical review team monitors, evaluates, and analyses well and water consumption data on a weekly basis. Syracuse Water Department s five-member board of commissioners is appointed by the Syracuse City Council. The department also replaces high-flow bathroom fixtures, showerheads, aerators, and toilets through its contract with the New York City Water Conservation Corporation.
