The National Collage Society, Inc is a non-profit 501 ( c ) foundation headquartered in Hudson, Ohio. The goal of the society is to foster appreciation and interest in the recognized medium of collage. NCS, Inc advances the stature of collage as a major art medium and assists in public education through exhibits, workshops, lectures, and publications. With those goals in mind, this virtual museum web site has been established to provide another means for the public to use to learn about collage. Many art museums and galleries around the country and the world have reproductions of works from their collections posted on their web sites. This page allows visitors to go directly to collage reproductions from several of these museum sites, via hyperlinks. All visitors are also encouraged to visit ( both online and in person ) the fine museums, galleries, and web sites to which this site is linked. We have requested linking permission from the owners of all of these sites. We also have a general listing of collage-related links at the bottom of this page. If you want to learn more about the artists mentioned, most of the web sites below include background information, and Artcyclopedia.com has listings on a great many individual artists. This page is not intended to be an exhaustive collection of every collage on the web ; it is instead meant to be a general sample from a diverse selection of museums. ( One could argue that the page itself somewhat resembles a collage. ) Please inform the Society if you have any other links or images you would suggest. Special thanks are given to the curators and administrators of the various museums for their permissions and cooperation, to Jill Porco for her editorial help, and to James Varas for help with foreign accents and characters.
