Open Hands Food Pantry operates out of St. John's Episcopal Church. The church, along with its food pantry and resale shop, is best entered through its parking lot on 11 Mile Road. The pantry itself is for the residents of Oakland County in times of emergency, providing food and other essential items. Patrons must have proof of Oakland County residency in order to receive the benefits of the pantry.
The Victor I. Rieck American Legion Post 351 serves veterans who served in World War I and II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, in Lebanon/Grenada, Operation Just Cause and Operation Desert Storm. St. Dunstan’s Theatre Guild of Cranbrook is a nonprofit theater company. Named for the patron saint of the arts, the guild is dedicated to providing theatrical performances for the enjoyment of the public. Season tickets and individual tickets are available, as well as membership programs. Part of all proceeds benefit Cranbrook scholarship programs annually. Known around town as RARA, the Rochester Avon Recreation Authority provides organized sports and fitness programs, kids' classes and special community events to residents of Rochester and Rochester Hills. It is governed by a board of city and school officials and funded, in part, by tax dollars. Popular programs include childrens' dance courses, breakfast and dinner with Santa Claus events, a fall road rally and sports leagues for all ages. Saline American Legion Hall, Post #322, is the local chapter of the national veterans and service organization. The American Legion Hall offers a banquet facility and event venue that can be rented by members of the community, with rental details and regulations available on the Saline American Legion website. The group is active in the community through charitable initiatives, and provides support, resources and services to its members and the general public.
The Far Conservatory of Therapeutic and Performing Arts is a non-profit organization that provides creative arts therapy and other services for children and adults with physical, mental or emotional disabilities. Located in the First Presbyterian Church off of West Maple Road, the Far Conservatory offers a wide variety of programs, including individual and group therapy, art and music classes and various sports teams. The Far Conservatory treats more than 2,000 children and adults each year.
The school is tuition-based, with varying rates for different activities and kinds of therapy sessions.
Clubs and teams include hockey, gardening, dance, ice skating, cooking, swimming and bowling.
