First Redeemer is a church with a huge following in Cumming. They offer a large campus, complete with multiple classrooms, recreational areas and a coffee shop. The church has more than 160 ministries, including those for youth, seniors, men and women. They have strong music and missions programs.
The founding pastor is Dr. Richard Lee, a noted author and public speaker. As Southern Baptists, the congregation believes the Bible is the inherent word of God, and that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. They practice communion through the Lord's Supper and practice baptism by immersion.
Kemp Memorial Library opened in 1989 on land donated by Frances Kemp Whitlow and features an open architechural design that takes advantage of natural lighting. The library has nine computers available for public use and a meeting room available for reservations.

The Islamic Center of North Fulton was established in 1998 to serve the worship and fellowship needs of Muslims who live in the area. It currently operates in two residential buildings. The center includes a preschool. An elementary school was added in 2010. Friday, the Islamic Sabbath, is the busiest day for prayer services.
Goodwill Industries International is a donation and volunteer program to help the less fortunate. This is the Northlake location, which contains a store and donation center.
Alpharetta First United Methodist Church on North Main Street is a Christian chuch with a vibrant youth group. It hosts both contemporary and traditional services, child care, missionary programs and many family-oriented activities.

Open daily, the Cumming Public Library offers thousands of titles, plenty of computers and a quiet room with a nice view for reading and relaxing. The library also has a plethora of music CDs and audiobooks for patrons to borrow or enjoy onsite. There is also a meeting room that hosts a variety of functions, including the county's Master Gardener Club.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank is inside of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Warehouse is West Atlanta. It was founded by Bill Bolling in 1979 and originally operated out of the basement of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Midtown. The food bank now provides food for more than 700 non-profit agencies. These agencies include food pantries, community kitchens, shelters, senior centers, and child care centers in Atlanta and other areas throughout North Georgia. It has an interactive website with helpful information about the various ways to donate and volunteer. Individuals and companies can make monetary donations online and walk-in food donations are accepted on-site during weekday hours. It also has volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups of up to 25 people. The Atlanta Community Food Bank sponsors and organizes events to raise money and awareness about hunger and nutrition. Information about the Hunger Walk/Run, Community Gardens, Kids in Need, and other annual community activities is posted on its website.
Our House nonprofit helps families get back on their feet by providing preschool education and daycare services to the homeless. It also offers family advocacy support and job training specific to Child Development Associate certification.
The First United Methodist Church is a staple in the Austell community. It hosts an array of programs for its members and the community of Austell. These activities include fitness programs and Backpack Blessings, where elementary students are given a backpack of food for the weekend and bring the backpack back on Monday to be refilled for the next weekend. Saint Vincent de Paul Society Thrift Store is one of nine metro Atlanta stores. All locations offer affordable clothing, furniture and household items for people with a limited income. Free goods are available to those referred by members or partnering agencies.
Donations of items that can be sold in the store are gratefully accepted and include clothing, shoes, small furniture, domestic goods, toys, books, bicycles, sporting equipment and small electrics.
