North Charleston Wannamaker County Park is a community park designed for family and group use. It offers more than 1,000-acres of woodlands and wetlands, with picnic sites and grills located throughout the park. It offers two playgrounds, more than 7-acres of grassy open meadows, a 20-foot play hill, 2-miles of paved trails for walking, biking and skating, a seasonal water play area, park center with snack bar, restrooms, and large patios, and a park office to provide information and passes. Amenities available at the park include Whirlin Waters Adventure Water Park, bicycle rentals, pedal boat and kayak rentals, and group function meeting areas. The senior citizens tax work-off program allows people who are 60 years or older to work for county departments to earn an amount equal to the Aiken County portion of their property taxes. The administrator is also responsible for administration of all county departments under the supervision of council.

Peachtree Centre provides short-term rehab, skilled nursing care and assisted living. We have 85 long term care beds, where we care for residents that need physical assistance with care and may need supervision due to dementia. We have a 26 bed skilled rehab unit that is designed mostly for those who need short term skilled rehab after a hospitalization for a fall or other illness, most of these rooms are private!!! We have a 22 bed assisted living unit for those that are still independent with most areas, but may need medication monitoring and minimal care assistance.

Myrtle Beach International Airport is three miles from the central area of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in Horry County. The airport was built on what was once the Myrtle Beach Air force Base and until 1993 the site housed both the commercial airport and the Air Force Base. This joint use of the runway limited both entities in functioning at capacity so in 1993 the Air Force Base moved its operations. In 1996 MYR became an international airport and construction began on a new terminal that’s architectural elements reflected the areas beach setting.
